Some Famous Mediterranean Fish Dishes

Fish and Bread, for Kids

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

1 kg Akuvatur fish

(Real Dentex, Pink Dentex,

Red Seabream,

Premium Seabream,

Premium Seabass)

Frying oil

(such as corn, sun flower or

soy bean oil)

Baguette, French bread

(or some other white bread

kids love)

Wheat flour

Sea salt

This recipe is for the kids (and some grown-ups) to get used to eating fish. It has been well tested 

Use boneless, skinless fillets of Akuvatur fish for this recipe. You may use the head, skin and bones to prepare fish broth for a later use in other recipes.

 

Cut the fillets into mid-sized chunks. Pour the frying oil, 2 cm deep into the pan. Heat the oil to 180 oC. Salt the fish pieces on both sides. Cover them with flour and place fish fillets into the pan. Arrange the heat not to burn the oil during frying. Fish pieces cook very fast so, give 2-3 minutes for each side to keep the juice inside. Take out on to the paper towel to remove the excess of oil.

 

Cut the bread in sandwich style and arrange fish pieces in it with either of the sauces kids prefer. You may use some cut-up greens (lettuce) dressed with lemon juice, inside the sandwich.

5 table spoon of ketchup

1 table spoon of vinegar

1 piece peeled garlic, crushed

1 tea spoon of soy sauce

5 table spoon of mayonnaise

1 table spoon of vinegar

3 pieces of pickle, finely chopped

1 tea spoon of soy sauce
